Trojan Cup Coffee Shop to Open at Topeka High
The Trojan Cup coffee shop is set to open on November 26, the day after Thanksgiving break. It will offer coffee, lattes, frappes, smoothies, and lemonade, and will be located in the back hallway of the Dungeon on the opposite side as the concession stand.
Madison Jacques, founder, says the process of starting Trojan Cup began last semester in entrepreneurship, when the idea of the beginnings of Trojan Cup won the class’s “Shark Tank”-esque competition. The coffee shop is partnered with PT’s Coffee, and it has received donations from the ’16, ’17, and ’18 senior classes, along with donations of espresso machines and countertops. The coffee shop will employ 15 to 20 students this semester.
“Trojan Cup offers easy access, is cheaper than outside coffee shops, and is by the students for the students,” said Jacques. “All the profits go back to bettering the school, students, clubs, and organizations.”
