Prom: A Night To Remember

Prom: a formal dance held by a high school at the end of the academic year, typically for students in their junior or senior year. The night that many high school students look forward to. After COVID-19 canceling all of the spring activities, the now seniors were cut short and only had one school dance for their final year.
With certain restrictions still in place, the dance this year was held at the Topeka Zoo rather than our cafeteria. Not only was the dance outside, but after prom was held at the same time as the dance itself. This gave a unique twist to the normal prom night, but allowed for the seniors to at least have an idea of what their special night should look like. The staff, parents, and STUGO fit as much fun as they could into their 7-10pm time frame.
There were lots of prizes to choose from along with many games and activities like henna, a photo booth, and black jack. The senior class also participated in a drawing with more expensive prizes like TVs, mini fridges, and speakers. Congratulations to the senior class and our prom king and queen Tre Thomas and Grace Martinez!
