Getting Out runs April 9, 10 and 11

The theatre department’s spring play performance, this year, will be Getting Out, A story of a woman newly out of prison after a murder conviction. The play tells the story of her struggles adjusting the the outside world and being involved with the wrong people.

Getting Out will be directed by Geoff Kaufman. Current lead roles include Alea Fellows, junior, Isabelle Smallback, sophomore, Keith Forshee, freshman, and Te` Mitchner, senior.

The show will be 7 o’clock April  9, 10, and 11 in Hoener auditorium. Tickets are five dollar and seating is limited. The limited seating is due to a new take on set design, moving the set to one side of the stage and placing the audience directly on the stage.

The lighting setup for the current show has been a challenge to Gregg Ratzloff and the stagecraft classes due to the auditorium not being set up for such a rig. Lights have had to be turned sideways and numerous extension cords have been used.
