Over the past year and a half, the Topeka High custodians have been scraping layers of wax off of the school’s floors by hand with only small razor blades and brooms. This sort of tedious work is common for the diligent THS custodial staff. When asked how long the entire school’s floors are expected to be finished, Jake Grindol, THS custodian estimated “a decade”. If this is true, the janitors will be on their hands and knees scraping the floors for ten more years. So next time you see a janitor in the hall, consider the hard work they do for your school every day, and maybe even say thanks.
