Looking for some fun, interesting events this month to get you in the Halloween spirit? With the 31st of October quickly approaching, Topeka and Kansas City are offering a variety of inexpensive yet entertaining Halloween activities. Whether you prefer haunted houses, family-oriented events, or good old fashioned pumpkin patches, there is something for everyone in this list of Halloween happenings.

 

Gary’s Berries

Friends and families are sure to have a good time at this large pumpkin farm. With activities such as a corn maze, petting zoo, pumpkin patch, and playground equipment, Gary’s Berries is known for it’s abundance of events and, of course, it’s apple cider slushes. Located at 5991 17th St. Grantville, KS 66429. Open Fridays from 5pm-10pm, Saturdays from 10am-10pm, and Sundays from 12pm-6pm until October 30th. Tickets are $10.95.

 

Project Terror

For those who love the spooky side of Halloween, Project Terror is perfect for you. Project Terror is a haunted house complete with live actors at Helen Hocker Theater. The gory and creepy house will be sure to give visitors a thrill. Located at 700 SW Zoo Parkway, Topeka, KS 66606. Open Fridays 7pm-12am, Saturdays 7pm-12am, and on Halloween day from 7pm-11pm. Tickets are $15.

 

Meier’s Pumpkin Paradise

This pumpkin patch makes for the perfect outing for families with children. Complete with giant slides, train rides, and a hay rack ride, the fun will last all day. Located at 5769 NW 17th St. Topeka, KS 66618. Open Saturdays 9am-6pm and Sundays 10am-6pm. Tickets are $8.99, but access to the pumpkin patch only is free.

 

Halloween Haunt at Worlds of Fun

The annual Halloween Haunt is sure to make even the most experienced thrill-seekers jump. Along with 8 haunted houses/mazes and 5 scare zones, classic Worlds of Fun rides such as the Mamba, Patriot, Prowler, Steelhawk, Detonator, and many more remain open during the haunt hours as well. With horrors around every corner of the park, only the bravest of the brave should venture out to this attraction. Located at 4545 Worlds of Fun Ave. Kansas City, Missouri 64161. Open Fridays 6pm-12am and Saturdays 6pm-1am until October 30th. Tickets are as low as $35.99 and up.

 

The Beast Haunted House

Another attraction that is not advised for the weak of heart, this Kansas City haunted house is included in a list of the top 13 haunted houses in the nation. With special effects, live actors, holograms, props, and animatronics, The Beast takes visitors on a horrifying yet exciting journey that is sure to provoke a lot of screams. Located at 1401 W 13th St. Kansas City, Missouri 64102. Open Thursdays, Fridays, and Saturdays in October from 6:30pm on. Tickets start at $25.

 

Boo at the Zoo in Kansas City

A family event aimed towards young children, Boo at the Zoo lets children dress up in costumes and visit the zoo to trick or treat. Along with trick or treating, kids get to participate in activities and watch live entertainment that will satisfy older guests as well. Located at 6800 Zoo Drive, Kansas City, Missouri, 64132. Open Saturday, October 29th and Sunday, October 30th from 9:30am to 5pm. Admission into the zoo is $11.50 for adults and $8.50 for children.
