The loss of innocence
Abortion is a topic that usually is uncomfortable to discuss. Most religions are against the thought, meanwhile the outcome of abortion. There are a handful of ways for abortion, there’s a abortion pill, suction aspiration, suction curettage, or vacuum aspiration.
The price for abortion is not free by any means. The price could roughly be up to $1,500 at the most, but it normally costs less. The process usually happens between 6-16 weeks gestation. The reasons for some people for abortion are; ¾ having a baby would interfere with work, school or other activities, ¾ cannot afford a child, and ½ say they don’t want to be a single parent or they’re having personal issues with their husband/ partner.
Buddhism doesn’t favor in abortion unless it will result in serious consequences or complications during the pregnancy. Christians don’t believe in taking an innocent life. Hindus describe abortion as “garha- batta” or “womb killing” saying if you abort you’re described as “the greatest of sinners.” In Islam they say “do not kill or take a human life which God has declared to be sacred.” Judaism “forbids the taking of innocent lives.” Lastly Atheists/Agnostics say it’s a violation of human rights.
Not giving a human a chance to experience life, making a choice for them to where they can’t enjoy the good or the bad, the baby steps, buying a house, finding the love of their life, and growing old. It’s not fair. You’re cutting their life off because you feel you can’t raise them by yourself, or you don’t want a mentally challenged child. What you aren’t thinking about is that someone may not care that the child may need a little extra caring for. Adoption is better than killing an innocent life.
Although there are some women who have complications while being pregnant. For example, there are women who get pregnant and by them carrying the baby it can make them sick. Some women push through and die after giving birth to their child. It’s also possible for the baby and the mother to die because of the high risk of the pregnancy. Those are women who’d rather sacrifice their lives rather than their babies.
Many women aren’t able to carry babies, meanwhile have them due to possible complications or the result of death- so they either adopt, or never get that one wish they were wishing for- a child to call their own. There are a lot of selfish people in this world who’re just thinking of themselves. Abortion should be counted as a crime, it should not be legal anywhere. It seems that women are committing murder on a human who isn’t even fully developed yet- which not at all makes it right. They don’t have a chance, and because of that it makes it seem unfair.
According to Abort73, it was estimated that 977,000 abortions took place in 2014. In 2013, 983,000 and in 2012 1.02 million abortions. In 2011 the highest number of abortions occurred in California.
After abortion, some women do regret the decision they made. Sometimes it can even cause depression. There are also women and families that don’t mind the fact that they killed an innocent child. Abortion shouldn’t be something that’s considered normal or ok because it’s not. Just remember if you decide that’s what’s best for you, you’ll have to live with it for the rest of your life.
