With the arrival of the holiday season, comes the start of the giving season. Toys for Tots is being run here until holiday break and the gifts can be donated in the French room and by the ROTC room.

“Toys for tots is something the Marine Corps does, and Gunner [Kelley] is retired from the Marine Corp. It is just something we do to help the Marine Corp, since we are the Marine Corp JROTC,” Francesca Kelley, senior, said.

This year the ROTC and the French club teamed up to work on this project. They established places where the gifts can be dropped off and helped to spread the word about the program.

“We were just discussing what kind of donations to make, and someone suggested Toys for Tots, so we decided to do that and then we found the ROTC was doing it as well,” Brandon Moreno, senior, said.  “So we asked someone from there if we could combine, and then went from there.”

The gifts donated will be given to families who are not able to afford gifts for the Holidays.

“We give them to the Reserve center, so they can wrap them and everything, or get them to the families so the families can wrap them. It depends on the families,” Kelley, said.

This gift drive allows students to volunteer and be able to help people.

“Every year we like to donate to people who are less fortunate, and we just want to help out. So our goal this year is to help out children,” Moreno said.
