Paris Attacks
- The attack on Paris leaving 129 people dead has gained much attention from people across the world. The police raids in France were able to track down and kill Abdelhamid Abaaoud, the head man behind the attacks. While France recovers from these attacks, many different opinions circle about the attack.
“It is a tragic event that sadly triggers feelings of racism for Muslim culture in the western world,” Kemper Robertson, senior, said.
There are some concerns this attack was just the start of more to come. There are even ideas of there being an attack in the United States.
“Right now the United States has a chance of something happening but not soon,” Hunter Herrera, senior said. “The people ISIS have recruited or gotten in the United States keep getting caught.”
Some people have called into question policies in France that may have correlated to these attacks in Paris occurring.
“Although it was a tragedy and I do not condone the actions of ISIS, I do think that racist and oppressive policies in France fueled an immense amount of tension that bred the incident,” Colton Glasscock, senior, said. “There is no excuse for France’s ban on the hijab.”
