Students plan for the summer

As the year winds to a close, students and teachers alike are getting ready for finals, yearbook signing, and summer fun.

Here are what some students are planning to do over their summer vacation.

“We are going to California and I’m sure I’ll be looking at colleges too. I don’t know, I’ll probably also be taking the ACT,” Jacob Cole, junior, said.

In addition to vacations, some are getting ready for some big changes.

“I don’t know if you can call this big but I’m kind of moving to Canada, that’s a pretty big plan,” Josh Smith, junior, said. “I want to get a job when I move there so I can start saving for college and for anything I need so I can start supporting myself.”

“I’m going to get some guns and they’re attached to my body. I’ll also be moving to Lawrence late this summer because I’m going to Johnson County Community College (JCCC),” Kevin Del Real, senior, said.

While some are getting ready for big moves, others are looking for something simpler and closer to home.

“I really just want to get a job working with my mom at Rolling Hills [Health Center],” Robert Simmons, senior, said.
