In association with the nationwide protests in the U.S., Topekans take to the capitol in support of the People’s March dressed for the cold and windy conditions. Volunteers before the start of the event set up tables with hand warmers, coffee, water, and snacks for the over 100 participants of the march.
There were many supporters of many different organizations, such as those concerned with the war on Gaza, Women’s reproductive rights’ advocates, the Missouri/Kansas Communist party, and many other progress-based organizations and supporters.
The event was organized by women’s rights activist Darcy Lewitzke-Snyder and the Topeka Women’s Rights group. Along with the many different groups attending, they received news coverage from WIBW and KSNT.
