Fall Sports Preview: Football

Last year the Trojan football team was battered with injuries, but ended up going 5-4 with big wins coming over Hayden and Emporia. On September first, the Trojans had a hard fought 61-43 win over the Hayden Wildcats.

A week later, the Trojans also got some revenge vs Junction City winning 42-28 making the Blue Jays force three turnovers in their first three possessions. With 21 seniors on this year’s team, one defensive player has high expectation for his final year in a Trojans uniform.

“I want to just be the best I can be individually. I want to set goals. I want to accomplish a lot of things like getting the most tackles, setting records at the schools, and just winning the state championship” Seth Alston, senior, said. “We’re all a family we all want the same goal and that’s to go to the championship and get that ring.”

The Trojan football team is coached by Head Alexander Walt, assistant coaches Jason Nichol, Erich Singer, Dan Voth, Tony Canacarri, and Luke Coffman. The Trojans still have tough games this season with notables being at Washburn Rural on October sixth and vs Manhattan. on September 22nd.
