Q&A: Jolie Regnier

October 20, 2017

As many of the Fall sports come to the end of their season, senior Jolie Regnier is saying goodbye to the Trojans volleyball team. Regnier is a four-year player along with Alynne Kettler, Katrina Lassiter, and Alexis Smith. Regnier plans on going to college for volleyball but will be focusing on her academics.

How long have you been playing volleyball?

In high school, I’ve been playing for four years. Out of school, I’ve been playing since Kindergarten. Yes, I play club volleyball, and I’ve been playing club (which is more competitive) since fourth grade.

How has volleyball shaped your high school career? What will you miss about it?

I’ve made a lot of friends through volleyball. A lot of the relationships I’ve made have been through volleyball. It’s helped me develop and become the person I am.

What’s your favorite part about volleyball?

The people that I get to meet, and the relationships that I get to have with the other girls on the team.

Will you be playing volleyball in college?

Yes, and I plan to commit to Ottawa University for volleyball.

What made you want to play volleyball?

My family, especially my grandpa and uncle, were very into volleyball. My uncle played volleyball in college, my grandpa played volleyball and I have a family of athletes. It always just seemed like the way to go for me and I’ve just loved it ever since I started playing it.
