With a few meets already played, the team is looking to continue getting better and have high hopes for the year.

“My goals for this season are to win League by getting first in doubles and then move on to state and play my best there,” Blake Morrell, senior, said.

While the players may have high goals set for themselves, there is not pressure from the team to win.

“The bonding experience with the team and how the emphasis is not out on winning but having fun,” Chris Gernon, junior, said.

The team has a good mix of both younger and older players as well as people with varying levels of experience.

“I started playing last year because I had always wanted to play tennis,” Barrett Robertson, senior, said. “I had a lot of fun so I decided I wanted to continue playing.”

The coaching staff has helped many players create many lasting memories and have the most fun possible throughout the years.
“My favorite part is the atmosphere coach [Duane] Pomeroy has created,” Gernon said. “He has showed me that tennis is not about winning or losing but it is about creating relationships on the court as well as off that will last a lifetime.”
