Compressed Natural Gas Cars- The cars of the future

Natural gas cars are better for the economy compared to gasoline or other fuels used to power vehicles. Many people prefer to use gasoline, but they do not think about the downsides of using it.

Even though gasoline is widely considered the best source of fuel for vehicles, it is bad for the economy. Studies have shown that compressed natural gas (CNG)  is soon to be the next best thing in terms of fuel.

Newly found pockets of natural gas have sprung up everywhere, allowing more of it to be compressed and put to use. Since natural gas has not been used as much as gasoline or diesel, future cars may run on only natural gas. This fuel may never run out in our lifetime due to the many new pockets found and the low use of the fuel now.

CNG cars have way better air pollution control than other cars that use gasoline or diesel. CNG is clean burning, meaning when the fuel burns less pollution is let out compared to other fuels that release lots and lots of pollution. When the CNG burns it reduces carbon dioxide emissions by 20% to 30%, carbon monoxide emissions up to 75%, nitrogen oxide emissions by 50%, up to 95% of particulate matter emissions, and volatile organic compound emissions by 55%. When the fuel combusts it releases water and carbon dioxide. Resulting in less air pollution.

When CNG fuel  is compared to other fuels, CNG is much cheaper than gasoline and diesel because drivers can hook up their own “fill” station in their home that connects into home’s gas. One can refill their car overnight. This makes it considerably cheaper than going to a gas station all the time. CNG has a high ignition temperature approximately 1163 degrees Fahrenheit, which means if it were to leak it would burn itself off before it could catch fire and do damage.

Other companies will think that their fuel is the best because CNG cars have limited driving range. The car itself is more expensive than a gasoline powered one, and they have limited options to choose from. But gasoline powered cars produce more air pollution, cause more deaths due to the fact that gasoline burns right away. CNG cars are safer.

CNG cars are better than gasoline or diesel powered cars. They are safer, better for the economy, and have in home use perks. These cars might be the cars of the future.
